Barbara Parente, 90, of Gladwin, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at 5:00PM. She was born on August 24, 1933, the daughter of Antonio Brugnetti and Rose Coppotelli in Chester, PA. She was united in marriage with Dr. Paul Parente on June 28, 1953, they shared many years of memories together until he preceded her in death in 2015. Barbara extremely enjoyed cooking for her family. She also played both the piano and the organ. Barbara was a skilled seamstress always making clothes for her children. Barbara and Paul travelled around the world frequently, enjoying long weekends away and beach vacations. The couple loved to dance, spending many nights dancing until they could not anymore. Barbara was always up for an adventure, whether it was going up north to the cottage or visiting family out of state she was always wanting to go. Barbara was such a loving and giving person and a great friend to many.
She is survived by her daughters: Denise (Richard) Purdy, Christine (Joseph) Carnahan, and Paula (Kevin Crane) Famie; sons: Paul Anthony Parente and Stephen Parente; sister; Nancy (Chuck) Wojciehowski; 8 grandchildren: Jennifer, Ryan, Emily, Alicia, Joshua, Richard, Alyssa, and Angelina; and 1 great-grandchild: Eider.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her sister, Francis DeAugustine.
Funeral mass will be held Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Farmington, Michigan. Visitation will be held at 9:30 A.M. until the time of service. Donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Arrangements are in the care of Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home. www.hallkokotovichfuneralhome.com
