Barbara Ann Pender

Barbara Ann Pender, born on August 14, 1948, in McCall, South Carolina, passed away peacefully in Wilmington, North Carolina, on December 26, 2025, at the age of 77.

Barbara was a beacon of love and kindness throughout her life. She was dedicated to her family and carried a radiant smile that could brighten the darkest of days. Her unwavering compassion and genuine love for people left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Preceded in death by her beloved parents, Eugene Barnes and Roberta Catheryn Byrd Barnes, Barbara's legacy of warmth continues through those who survive her. She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 57 years, David Michael Pender; her daughter, Michele Swinson and husband Steven of Rocky Point, NC; her brother, Steve Barnes; and her sisters, Myra Sue Barnes and Donna Kay Barnes. Her cherished fur babies, Hobie, Sissie, Foxie, and Nicky, filled her days with joy and companionship.

A time of visitation will be held from 4 to 6 PM on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Wilmington Funeral and Cremation, located at 1535 South 41st Street, Wilmington, North Carolina, 28403.
