Barbara Arlene Petersen

Barbara Arlene Petersen, affectionately known as Barb, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025, in Clintonville, Wisconsin. Born on April 16, 1954, in Illinois, Barb was a beacon of love and strength whose presence could fill a room with joy. She lived a long and hard life, yet her spirit was unbreakable, always refusing to let adversity dim her light.

Barb dedicated her life to nurturing others. As a devoted nurse and the owner of an in-home daycare, she exemplified hard work and selflessness. Her nurturing nature extended beyond her professional life; it was deeply woven into the fabric of her family. She poured her heart into her children, offering support and love unconditionally. Every conversation with her ended with a gentle reminder of her affection, always proclaiming, “I Love you More.” This simple phrase encapsulated her essence and the depth of her love.

Her personality was as vibrant as her interests. Barb was known for her spunky, outgoing demeanor, with a theatrical flair that made her performances in life memorable. She enjoyed the arts, music, and musicals, and her love for these passions was only rivaled by her zest for spending time in nature and dancing. Barb never did anything small; her approach to life was loud and proud, creating memories that would echo through the hearts of those who loved her.

Barb is survived by her loving family—her Daughter, Catherine (Earl Lewis) Burklow-Lewis; her Son, Aaron Burklow; her cherished Grandchildren, Evan Burklow-Lewis, Ty Burklow-Lewis, and Regan Burklow; and her treasured Sisters, Elizabeth (Greg) Wassilkowsky and Carol Eischen. They were the essence of her life’s joy and purpose Barb was preceded in death by her Parents Warren and Maxine Boehner, first Husband Wayne, Son Eric and Grandson Harrison. 

Though Barb’s journey on this earth has come to a close, she leaves behind a legacy filled with cherished memories and indelible love. Her spirit will continue to resonate with everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Her greatest strength was her family, and while she may have departed from this world, the warmth of her love and the lessons she taught will endure in the hearts of those she left behind. Rest in peace, Dear Barb. You will be dearly missed, but your love will forever remain a guiding light to your family.

A funeral service for Barb will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Ascend Funeral Home & Cremation Care of Weston with Pastor John Stransky presiding. Visitation will take place from 1:00 PM until the time of service at 3:00 PM. Barb will be laid to rest at Plainfield Cemetery the following day on Friday, October 31, 2025, at 10:00 AM - Please meet at cemetery for graveside service.
