Helen B. Krueger, 93, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025, at Mount View Care Center, under the compassionate care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
Helen was born on February 18, 1932, in Athens, Wisconsin, to the late A.G. and Pauline "Polly" (Weiss) Reineking. Her family moved to Spencer, Wisconsin, when she was ten years old. After completing her education at Spencer High School, where she graduated in 1949, Helen further pursued her studies at Northcentral Technical College in Wausau. She worked at Home Insulation and then D.J. Murray's.
In 1950, she met Leroy Krueger, and they were united in marriage in 1952. They established their home in Wausau before settling in Schofield in 1957. As a devoted mother, Helen raised four sons: Rodney, Jerry, Jon, and Randy. Helen started working at Memorial Hospital in 1964, then at Wausau Hospital in admitting, switchboard, and then Accounting. She retired in 1997. Her commitment to her faith was evident as she became an active member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Schofield, where she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and played in the Handbell Choir.
Helen's one-of-a-kind spirit was complemented by her special smile and twinkle in her eye, which endeared her to many. She treasured her family and was a close friend to many. Helen was an avid and true Milwaukee Brewers fan, right to the very end.
Left behind but in her heart are two sons, Jerry (Linda) and Jon (Debbie); daughters-in-law Pat (Jeff) Karasek and Mary (Randy) Meverden; seven grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and step great-grandchildren; a special nephew and many special nieces.
Helen now rejoins her husband, Leroy, along with her sons Rod and Randy. She is also preceded in death by her brothers Adolph (in infancy), William, John, and Richard; sisters, Margaret (Fritz) Cox and Pauline (Art) Emig; daughter-in-law, Karen Krueger; and step-grandchild, Tammy Block.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church, 1351 S Grand Avenue, Schofield. Pastor Jeffrey Mahnke will officiate. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13, from 4:00 - 6:00 PM and again from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Tuesday, all at the church. Helen will be laid to rest in the Restlawn Memorial Park - Chapel Mausoleum, Town of Texas.
