Robert "Bob" Edward Olson, 82, of Kronenwetter passed away at his home on Thursday, October 2, 2025.
He was born on March 5, 1943, in Milwaukee, son of the late Fred and Margaret (Johnson) Olson. During his youth, he enjoyed participating in the Boy Scouts, and went on to earn his Eagle Scout award. He attended the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point, where he earned his bachelor's degree in sociology. On August 23, 1969, Bob married Wendy (Steinke) Olson in Wauwatosa, and they went on to raise three children together.
Bob worked for many years as a parole agent. He later became an advocate for drug, alcohol, and disability awareness. His personal experience with partial deafness fueled his passion for helping others with disabilities, leading him to set up multiple supportive programs throughout his career.
Outside of his professional commitments, Bob enjoyed tinkering and fixing things. He cherished summers spent outdoors, relishing the time camping with family and friends.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Wendy; children, Rachel Olson of Oconomowoc, Sarah (Kevin) Reck of Pewaukee, and Eric (Sandy) Olson of Wausau; 7 grandsons, Noah, Isaiah, Malachi, Parker, Isaac, Carsten and Caleb; sisters-in-law Pamela (Darryl) Koutecky, Priscilla Olson, Denise Olson, and Deanna Olson, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was further preceded in death by his siblings, James Olson, Margaret Falk, David Olson, and Richard Olson.
In accordance with his wishes, no formal services will be held; the family will be having a Celebration of Bob's Life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Bob's name to either the Wisconsin Lions Foundation (and specify summer camp programs/Lions Camp) OR to UWSP Alpha Phi Omega (APO) Scholarship Fund (send to Marc Kramer 1024 Ridge Road Stevens Point, WI 54481).
