Barbara Petzel Obituary

Barbara Ann Petzel, 78, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, died peacefully Friday, April 23, 2021, at St. Anne's Home, in Greensburg, where she had resided as a resident for the last two years. She was born Aug. 1, 1942, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Martin and Stella Olinzock Honeychuck. Barb was a graduate of the former Ramsay High School, Class of 1960. She retired after 20 years of employment from the Fayette County Behavioral Health Administration. She belonged to Visitation Roman Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Christian Mothers. Barb greatly enjoyed playing bingo, poker/cards and going to the casinos. She is survived by four children, Angela Siecinski and her husband, Joe, of Mt. Pleasant, Lori Garvey and her husband, Ron, of Aliquippa, James Petzel and his wife, Terri, of Plum, and Jodi Repasky and her husband, R.J., of Greensburg; six grandchildren, Adam and Abigael Siecinski, Ronnie and Rian Garvey and Sydney and Dylan Repasky; step-grandchild, Kayla Repasky; one sister, Mary Ann Newhouse and her husband, William, of Greensburg; two brothers, Raymond Honeychuck, of Greensburg, and Joseph Honeychuck and his wife, Maureen, of New Freedom; an aunt, Magdalene Cole, of Greensburg; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. As per Barb's request, there will be no viewing. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in Visitation Roman Catholic Church, 740 Walnut St., Mt. Pleasant, with inurnment to follow in Transfiguration Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. Everyone please meet at the church. All arrangements are under the direction of the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 406 E. Washington St., Mt. Pleasant. Donations in lieu of flowers can be offered to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, of which Barb was a longtime supporter.
