Barbara Poole

Barbara Curran Poole, of Lansdale, PA died on Friday, October 31, 2025, at Jefferson Einstein Montgomery Hospital. She was 78.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frank V. Curran and Eleanor Scher Curran and sister of the late Frank V. Curran Jr.

Barbara's early childhood was spent in Reading and Philadelphia.

She graduated from Cardinal Dougherty Class of 1965 and worked for the Reliance Insurance Company.

As the family moved out of the city to Chalfont in 1977, she became involved with St. Jude Parish and volunteered at the school that her children attended.

In the early 80's, she was a store opener for Bamberger's at Montgomery Mall and made a long lasting career with Macy's which took her into retirement.

Barbara loved spending time with family and friends, taking vacations to Florida and down the shore and going to shows at the Walnut St Theater.

She was very proud to be a grandmother and to be called Mom Mom. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren at their events and activities and celebrating their milestones. Mom Mom loved them "Whole Bunches"!

She is survived by her three children John J. Poole Jr. and his wife Laura Jo of Chalfont, Nancy M. Bormes and her husband Donald O. of Perkasie, and Laura E. Slater of New Britain and her one brother Thomas J. Curran and his wife Crystal of Chalfont. Her six grandchildren also survive her: Jacqueline (Bormes) Deveney, Dr. Kathryn Bormes, Amanda Jo Poole, Brooke Slater, Shannon J. Poole, and Jackson Slater.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Saturday, November 15, 2025 in St. Jude Church, 321 West Butler Ave., Chalfont, PA 18914 from 10:00AM until her Words of Remembrance, 10:50am with her Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00AM. Her interment will take place following the mass in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.
