Barbara Jeannie Ptaszek

Barbara Jeannie Ptaszek, a loving and kind soul, passed away suddenly on July 19, 2023, in Lapeer, Michigan. Born on April 12, 1953, in Detroit, Michigan, Barbara lived a life filled with optimism, love, and joy.
Barb was the adored mother of daughters Christy Palazzoni and Caryn (David) Henderson, cherished sister to Donald (Monica) McGaugh and James McGaugh, and She was the doting grandmother of Noah and Paige, who brought immense joy and laughter into her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.T. and Francis McGaugh.
Barb dedicated close to a decade of her life to serving the community as a bus driver for the Greater Lapeer Transportation Authority (GLTA), before retiring in 2019. Her warm, friendly demeanor and unwavering commitment to her work brought comfort to many passengers during her tenure. Barb was a true professional, always ensuring that her passengers reached their destinations safely and punctually.
Beyond her work, Barb had an insatiable passion for life. She loved traveling and exploring new places, always eager to take on the next adventure. Barb was an avid reader and had a deep love for music, especially small, intimate concerts where she could feel the rhythm and melody coursing through her.
Fishing was another of Barb's favorite pastimes. She found solace in the tranquility of nature and enjoyed the simple pleasure of casting a line into the water. Her love for the outdoors extended to regular trips to the casino, where she reveled in the excitement and camaraderie surrounding the games.
More than anything, Barb loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a beacon of love and kindness, always putting others before herself. Her home was a hub of laughter, love, and warmth, where everyone was always welcome.
Barb Jeannie Ptaszek will be remembered as a loving mother, a caring sister, a doting grandmother, and a loyal friend. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and optimism will be cherished forever.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Barb's Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Jansen Family Funeral Home – Columbiaville.
