Barbara Rector

Barbara Rector, 77, of Linden, Texas, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2025 in Jefferson, Texas

Barbara was born on April 22, 1948, in Atlanta, Texas, to Henry and Brownie Bowman. She devoted her life to caring for her family, a role she cherished deeply. In her quieter moments, Barbara found joy in gardening, fishing, reading a good book, and playing Yahtzee-simple pleasures that reflected her warm and thoughtful spirit.

She is survived by her son, Michael Rector; daughters-in-law, Licia Rector and Bobbie McClure; and her sister, Pamela O'Sullivan.

Barbara leaves behind a large and loving family, including her grandchildren: Michael Rector, Jr., William Rector, Liz Alcantar, Gary Rector III, Breanne Rector, Josh Rector, Sonny Rector, John Baxter, Kayla Baxter, Raven Hodge, Tyler Hodge, Kenzie Mitchell, Brandon Malone, Ashlea Malone, and Hailey Allen; and her great-grandchildren: Aydia Rector, William Rector II, Anthony Rector, Lincoln Rector, Dallas Baxter, Kylie Baxter, Remington Baxter, Klaire Pendley, and Kadie Pendley.

She is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Tim Bowman, Gideon Bowman, Doug O'Sullivan, Christina Kaine, Denis Stokes, Justin Glasgow, James Glasgow, Angela Coon, and Kelly Glasgow; cousins, Jeanie Wilson, Patricia Ross, Mary Lynch, and Teresa Moyer; and many other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
