Barbara Ann Reincke, 94, of Linden Ponds, Hingham died peacefully in her sleep on October 10th, 2025. Born in Abington on May 3rd, 1931, she was the daughter of the late John Edward Moriarty and Eileen Louise Mahoney. She graduated from Abington High School as Valedictorian and from Bridgewater State College. Barbara taught kindergarten for many years, and was a Title One Reading Specialist in Braintree.
Barbara loved gardening and traveling with her late husband Fritz. She was a member of the South Shore Dancers, Hanover Garden Club, and Hanover Historical Society, and worked as a volunteer at the Stetson House in Hanover and Thayer House in Braintree. Barbara also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Barbara is survived by four granddaughters: Sheila Bestick and fiancé Michael Pitskel, Melissa Bestick and husband Michael Meyers, Alyson Grealish Marchese and husband Gregory Marchese, and Katelyn Grealish. She is also survived by daughter-in-law Andrea Grealish and son-in-law Earle Bestick, as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. Barbara is predeceased by her husband Fritz Reincke, former husband Francis Grealish, daughter Sheila Bestick, son Kevin Grealish, and infant daughter Beth Ann Grealish. She is also predeceased by her siblings: Eileen Meserve, Helen Siemers, Daniel Moriarty, Ruth Winsor, Paul Moriarty, and Kathleen Shahvari.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 19th at Sullivan Funeral Homes in Hanover, 551 Washington St., Rte 53 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. There will be a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Angels in Hanover, 392 Hanover St. on Monday, October 20 at 9:00 am. Burial will follow at Saint Patrick's Cemetery in Rockland with a reception afterwards.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Barbara Reincke can be made to the Linden Ponds Resident Care Fund, which provides financial support to residents of Linden Ponds. Donations can be made by using this link or by mailing a check. Checks should be payable to Linden Ponds with "RCF" written in the memo line. Please make a note that the gift is in memory of Barbara.
