Barbara Ann Respert

Barbara Ann "Barbrain" Respert was born December 27, 1952, to the late Thomas Bacchus and Rev. Mother Lucille Bacchus Pierce. She entered into eternal rest on October 28, 2025, at the age of 72. She found Christ at an early age, and later married her husband, the late Henry Respert. Of this union, one son was born, James Russell Respert. She was a wonderful loving grandmother of two grandchildren, Caprice and Jamie Respert. Barbrain, as she was affectionately called, loved watching her day soaps like The Young and The Restless, The Bold and The Beautiful, and Beyond the Gates. She also enjoyed watching First 48, Steve Colbert and scary movies. She was a very outgoing person who was loved by everyone she met. She loved going to the park, going out to eat with friends and hanging out with family. She loved Mardi Gras and Halloween and would always dress in bold bright colors. Barbara was preceded in death by, her husband: Henry Respert; her parents: Thomas Bacchus and Rev. Mother Lucille Bacchus Pierce; three brothers: Mitchell Pierce Jr., Thomas Bacchus Jr. and Willie Bacchus; three nephews: Clarence Mitchell Pierce, Sr., Bryan and Gerald Craft, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memories: four sisters, Lorraine (Gerald) Craft, Eloise Bacchus, Jeannette (James), and Silette (Reginald) Pierce; Anthony (Celina) Pierce, Raymond (Regina) Pierce, Melvin Pierce, and Lionel Pierce one Godson: Kenneth Bacchus; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Family and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, November 15, 2025, for 11:00 a.m. at Israel Baptist Church, 2836 Jackson Ave, New Orleans, LA 70113. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Reverend Malcolm Bacchus, officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 4000 Norman Mayer Ave, New Orleans, LA 70122.
