Barbara E. Ritz-Bashore
LEBANON – Barbara Elaine Ritz-Bashore, 80, entered into rest early Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at Cedar Haven Healthcare Center. She was the loving wife of Ronald L. Bashore. The couple celebrated 16 years of marriage on November 18, 2023. She was also wife of the late Elwood L. Ritz.
Born September 30, 1943 in York, Barbara was a daughter of the late Charles and Betty (Shindler) Keckler.
She graduated from York Country Day School in 1961. Barbara had 19 years of service for J.E. Baker Company in York where she was a custodian. She had also worked as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and as a school crossing guard for Lebanon City Schools.
Barbara attended Faith Fellowship Church in Lebanon and was a member of South Lebanon Township Fire Police.
She was a Baltimore Ravens football fan and loved listening to 50's music and was an Elvis fan. Barb enjoyed attending church and listening to praise music. She especially cherished time spent with family and friends. Barb spread her love of the Lord with anyone open to the Word. She remained positive even through the many years of adversity and health concerns. Barb's light will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her husband, Barbara is survived by her daughters, Brenda Lehman and husband, Ted Lehman, Michelle Baum and partner, Scott Bair; son, John Baum and partner, Vickie Orwick; son-in-law, Frank Werni and wife, Wendy Werni; five grandchildren, Rory McCleary, Shea McCleary, Ashley Bashore, Daryl Werni and Megan Werni; five great grandchildren; and a sister, Virginia "Ginny" Kauffman. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Barry Keckler.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral at 12 noon on Tuesday on February 6, 2024 with the viewing from 11 a.m to 12 noon at Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 47 N. Queen St., Dover. Burial will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be the Rev. Patricia Bream, pastor of Christ Lutheran Church in Dallastown.
