Milton - Barbara J. Robar, age 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family by her side on May 12, 2025. Mom, Gram, GG, Barb was raised and lived in Milton, Vermont her entire life. She graduated from Milton High School, class of 1951 as valedictorian and worked at the Milton Post Office for 28 years. She could tell you where any road was and what route it was on. She then looked after her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, young and old. Her life was a beautiful tapestry of love, faith and dedication. Her family and friends will miss her deeply.
She is survived by her children; Donna Mattos (Peter) of Milton, David Robar (Janet) of New Hampshire, Susan Deuso of Milton, Marilyn Kudlacik (Joe) of Milton and Nancy Muzzy (Brion) of Colchester, 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, two cats, Frost and Tiger, extended Barsalow family and many close neighbors and friends that she attended all 12 years of school that she still kept in touch with.
She was predeceased by her parents Ira and Agnes (Hutchins) Gonyeau her husband, Paul B. Robar, her sons Gary and James Robar, son-in-law Timothy Deuso and brothers, William, Roy and Roger Gonyeau.
She was most proud of her family. She attended many concerts, sporting events or any event they were involved in. She hosted many dinners and has many pictures to prove it. She was a great cook. Her cookies and Chex mix were just two items that she still made. Everything tastes better when she makes it. She took great pride in the sweaters she knitted, the countless afghans and mittens she made for family, friends and church bazaars. She enjoyed gardening and crocheting and was a member of the St. Ann Parish of Milton. She was just a remarkable woman through and through.
Those planning an expression of sympathy in Barbara's memory are asked to consider Milton Rescue Association; 43 Bombardier Road, Milton, VT 05468 OR St. Ann Food Shelf; 41 Main Street, Milton, VT 05468.
