Barbara Roessler, age 84, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2023 after an extended illness. She is predeceased by her husband James E Roessler and son James D Roessler. She is survived by her daughters Maria Bloom (Andrew) and Lisa Rhoden (David), Grandchildren Melissa Stanley, Derek Calkins (Wendy) and Micah Strateger (Joseph), Great grandchildren Aaron Stanley, Ava Stanley, Noah Calkins, Madelyn Calkins, and Emmaline Calkins, sister Josie McCarthy, nieces and nephews. Barbara was a devoted wife and mother who stayed at home to raise her family. She assured they had everything they needed and ran the household with love and care. There were always 3 delicious meals on the table and homemade sweets on the counter. Not only was Barbara a devoted wife of 65 years, but she was also a proud military wife of 21 years. She gave back to the military by volunteering and was known to bring treats to military personnel as a thank you for their service. Barbara will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be Monday, September 11, 2023 at Moore Family Funeral Home 225 Spring Street, Batavia. Visitation starting at 10:00AM followed by service at 11:00AM. Burial to follow at Olive Branch Cemetery for all who would like to attend. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Ohio's Hospice of Miami County in honor of Barbara.
