Barbara E. Ruttgen

Barbara E. Ruttgen, 77, of Girard, died on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at her residence in Girard.
Barbara was born April 21, 1948 in Chetopa, Kansas, a daughter of William C. Littlejohn, Sr., and Lillie L. (Smith) Littlejohn. She grew up and attended schools in Chetopa. The family moved to North Carolina in 1966 and later returned to Chetopa.
Barbara worked as a cashier at Walmart in Parsons and at the Bartlett Coop in Bartlett, Kansas before retiring in 1999.
Barbara married Donald G. Ruttgen, Sr. on November 15, 1985 in Miami, Oklahoma and Donald preceded her in death on November 15, 2011.
Barbara was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Girard and she enjoyed her friends, family, especially her grandchildren, watching movies, and bowling.
Survivors include her daughters Kimberly E. Kehlbreier, and her husband, Werner, of Mississauga Ontario, Canada and Melissa L. Wray, and her husband, Terry, of Girard. Barbara's grandchildren Christopher Kehlbreier, Shelby Kehlbreier, Tanner Wray, Madison Wray, and Makena Wray.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 6, 2025 at the Girard Cemetery Patio with Pastor Mike Johnson officiating. Inurnment will follow the services and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.
