Barbara Jean Schiller-Kolaski, 82, of Plano, IL formerly of Aurora and Yorkville, IL passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, September 7, 2025, with her family at her side. She was born September 2, 1943, in Toledo, OH the daughter of the late Ralph Clayton and Ruby Luella Klump nee Studer.
She was raised on a farm in rural Blissfield, MI attending elementary and high school there. She continued her education by becoming a Registered Nurse from the Northwestern Hospital School of Nursing in Chicago, IL. She practiced nursing in various locations before joining the staff of Senior Services Associates, Inc. where she, very proudly, advocated for Elder Rights.
She surveyed nursing home care, followed by finally retiring while providing Private Guardianship services.
She is survived by her children John Scott (Stacey) Edwards, Ralph Jeffrey (Chris) Edwards, Dean Anthony Schiller, Valentina Marie (Josh) Dolan nee Schiller, grandchildren Austin Edwards, Jessica (Eric) Hyla nee Edwards, Nathan Edwards, Julia Edwards, Jeremiah Dolan, Alyssa Dolan, great-grandchild Owen Hyla, brother Norris (Robin) Klump, sister-in-law Bernie Klump, and many other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands John Edwards, Richard Schiller, and Dennis Kolaski, brother Virgil Klump, and her grandchildren Ashley Edwards and Alec Edwards.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, September 11, 2025, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM, with a funeral service at 5:00 PM, at the DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 Douglas Road, Oswego, IL. Cremation will take place afterwards at American Crematory in Oswego, IL.
Memorials may be directed to Senior Services Associates, Inc., 101 S Grove Ave, Elgin, IL 60120.
