Barbara J. Semrow

Barbara Jean Semrow, age 82, of Richford, passed away Saturday morning, January 25, 2025 at Heartland House in Wautoma.

She was born February 11, 1942 to Garnet and Victoria (Schlicter) Eastman. Barb attended Fish and DeGeorge Schools, rural Coloma and graduated from Adams Friendship High School in 1960.

She married Robert G. “Bob” Semrow on October 31, 1964. He preceded her in death on December 17, 2023. They lived and worked in Oshkosh for a few years before returning to the Semrow Family Homestead Farm. Barb and Bob adopted and raised two sons, Rodney and Russell. They enjoyed traveling and in later years scaled that back to backroad driving. Barb enjoyed homemaking, gardening and all her pets. She was a longtime active member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Richford. 

She is survived by her sister Karen Eastman, Wisconsin Rapids; sons, Rodney, Wautoma and Russell, Florida; two sisters-in-law, Virginia "Ginny" Bruch, Ripon and Marlene "Sue" Sutphen, Lowell, IN; one brother-in-law, Richard (Sue) Semrow, Coloma; five grandchildren, Brittney, Trevor, Xander, Lauren and Hailey. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her longtime dear friend and neighbor Judy Fenske.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, Garnet and Victoria Eastman; her parents-in-law, George and Mildred Semrow; two brothers, Kenneth and Jerry (Sandy) Eastman; one sister, Joyce Barthels; two brothers-in-law, Don Bruch and John Sutphen.

The family would like to thank Theda Care Hospice for the care they gave Barb and the family. We would further like to express our gratitude to the staff of Heartland House for all the amazing comfort they gave to Barb in her journey.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 31, 2025 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Richford with Rev. Blaine O. Niskanen officiating. Burial will follow at the Richford Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.
