Obituary For Barbara Shuler
Barbara Wardlaw Shuler, 71, gained her wings on September 15, 2024, in Nassau, Bahamas. Born on November 6, 1952. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Wardlaw and Annie Mae Trimiar; step-father, George Trimiar; her sister, Odessa Davis and her husband, Joe Shuler.
Barbara graduated from Davie County High School and furthered her education at Brookstone College of Business and Forsyth Technical Community College.
Barbara was known for her vibrant zest for life, which was evident in her passion for cooking, sewing, and crafting. Always with a smile, she was famously welcoming, ready with a warm meal and a cold glass of sweet tea, for anyone who visited her home.
She leaves behind a loving family, including her two daughters, Jessica Saddler and Toni Henderson; one son, James Henderson Jr., seven grandchildren; Jazmine Henderson, LaKenya Henderson, Domonic Wardlaw-Adams, Torrian Faggart, McKenzie Henderson, Jocelyn Henderson, and Joshua Henderson; and seven great-grandchildren, Autumn, Kollin, Emeri, Zadaya, Skyla, Terrence and Riley. Barbara is also survived by her sisters, Stephanie Golden and Robin Slappy, along with five nieces, three nephews, and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held Monday, October 7, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 3:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and other times at 133 E. Dayton Ave. Friends, family, and those whose lives Barbara touched are invited to attend and commemorate her legacy.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.
