Barbara J. Simonis, 76, Mosinee, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2024, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, surrounded by her family.
Barb was born December 29, 1947, in Colorado Springs, CO the daughter of the late Fred and Laura (Stark) Greeno. On January 10, 1966, she married the love of her life, Richard Simonis, in Kenosha, WI, he survives.
Barbara was a devoted wife and an amazing mother to her seven children. She loved flea marketing, crafting, gardening and playing cribbage with her husband. She often enjoyed sitting outside with a cup of coffee admiring all the birds on her many bird feeders. She loved decorating and cooking for all holidays especially her favorite holiday of all, Christmas. She enjoyed listening to all types of music, but her favorites were oldies and Christmas music. Of all things she loved in life, her family is what she cherished the most. She loved nothing more than a house full of chaos and laughter.
Survivors include her husband, Richard, children Tina (Nathan) Simonis, Schofield, Richard Simonis Jr, Mosinee, Kathy (Thomas) Fuhrman, Schofield, Susan Simonis, Mosinee, Jamie (Orman) Boggs, Birnamwood, Jason Simonis, Mosinee, Stacy (Jay) Heal, Hatley, 15 grandchildren Randi, Keauna, Rhylee, Brittany, Tanner, Nicholas, Logan, Ashton, Owen, Ella, Peyton, Marshall, Blake, Skylar and Lucas; and 5 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Ronnie (Vicki) Greeno, Colorado Springs, Colorado, Ricky (Mary Jo) Greeno, Kenosha, Gail (Leon) Lemma, Mosinee, Sally Simonis Everson, Schofield, Ronnie Simonis, Mosinee and Vicki Thompson Simonis Ganther, Mosinee, along with many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by father-in-law Hilbert Simonis, mother-in-law Myrtle (Bill) Dowell, and brother-in-law Randy Simonis.
Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, July 8, 2024, at Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee. Pastor Phyllis Smoot will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service, all at the Funeral Home. Online condolences can be directed to the family at www.bestefh.com.
