Rosemary Simonis, age 91, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 21, 2025, at Island Shores Senior Living. She was born September 24, 1933, in Escanaba, MI, daughter of the late Alfred and Marian (Finley) LaBranche.
Rosemary attended Nursing School in Milwaukee and that's where she met Frank Simonis. They were married on August 13, 1955. He preceded her in death on October 7, 2009. They settled in Neenah in 1960.
Rosemary enjoyed playing bridge, volunteering at Theda Clark Medical Center and for Meals on wheels and attending all her grandchildren's and great grandchildren's activities. Rosemary loved their view of the water on Little Lake Butte des Morts and at their cottage in the U.P.
Rosemary was a passionate member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Menasha, Ridgeway Country Club, Dance Club and Bridge Clubs.
Survivors include her five children: Laurie (Pat) Kish, Julie Reiser, John (Renee) Simonis, Patti DeMuri, Karen (Bill) Hoffmann; grandchildren: Katie (Dan) Bushmaker, Megan (Jerod) Hanaman, Ryan (Brittany) Reiser, Allie (Ryan) Litchtenwald, Mike Simonis, Jack Simonis, Adam DeMuri, Becca DeMuri, Ben DeMuri, Alex Hoffmann, Brady (Maddie) Hoffmann, and Jason Hoffmann; great-grandchildren: Jayden, Logan, Everett, Rosalie, Emilia, Lenny, Lola,, Florence, Wesley and Charlotte; two sisters-in-law: Phyllis LaBranche, Kathy Menge; a brother-in-law, Roger Lange; and many nieces and nephews.
Rosemary was preceded in death by a brother, John LaBranche; and sister, Jean Lange; and son-in-law, John Reiser.
The Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 324 Nicolet Blvd, Menasha, with Fr. Judah Pigon officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 AM until Mass. Interment will follow in St. Margaret's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial to Hospice or St. Patrick's Parish would be appreciated.
The family extends its thanks and appreciation to Island Shores and Heartland Hospice for the compassionate and loving care they provided during Rosemary's journey.
