Barbara Eileen "Bobbie" Simpson (nee Turner), 75, passed away after a long cancer-related illness on July 3, 2025 in Lakewood, Ohio.
Bobbie, the middle child and only daughter of 3 siblings, was born on December 26, 1949 in Leavittown, Long Island, New York to Everett and Eileen Turner (nee O'Day). Her family moved from New York to Southern California when Bobbie was 10. She was a 1967 graduate of Norte Vista High School in Riverside, California, where she was a cheerleader and sang in the choir.
Bobbie started her family after graduating from high school and they all moved to Akron, Ohio in 1979.
She made her career as a Mortgage Loan Processor until her retirement in 2021.
Bobbie enjoyed volunteering for the annual Soap Box Derby for many years. She was a sports enthusiast and played in an adult soccer league while her kids were growing up. Recently, she enjoyed watching her beloved granddaughters' activities, especially watching them play varsity basketball for the Wadsworth Lady Grizzlies. She enjoyed beach vacations, crocheting various projects and was an avid reader. Bobbie also enjoyed spending time with her cat, Rascal, and taking walks outside. She will be remembered for her outgoing personality and sense of humor. Bobbi; mother, grandmother and friend will be greatly missed.
Bobbie is survived by her brother, Larry Turner; her children; Scott Simpson and Michelle Clark (Dana) and her granddaughters, Regan and Reece Simpson. Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents Everett and Eileen Turner and her brother James Turner.
