Barbara Smith Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory - Hawk Point on Sep. 16, 2025.
Barbara A. Smith, 82, of Hawk Point, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Monday, Sept. 15, 2025 at her son's home. She was born on March 11, 1943 in Hawk Point to George and Dorothy (Burgess) Allen. Barbara grew up in Hawk Point along with her younger brother, Steve. After her formal schooling she became a cosmetologist and even opened her own shop in Hawk Point. She was blessed with three children: Jeff, Janine and Mark.

Owning and operating her own business was important to her. She had been involved with a restaurant/bar, Smith Automotives, a mobile home park and the Texaco station, all businesses in Hawk Point. As you can tell she was a very hard-working, an ambitious lady who was capable of running any sort of business she set her mind to. Her appearance was always immaculate; she looked like she came out of a bandbox whenever you would see her. Taking care of her home, flowers and cooking were some of her other projects. Her family remembers her delicious cheesecakes she loved to bake. She cherished her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and loved spending time with them.

Surviving are her devoted son, Mark T Smith of Hawk Point, her daughter, Janine Smith; her loving grandchildren: Matthew, Benjamin, Tyler, Valerie, Stevie and Chelsea and her many great-grandchildren.

Barbara was preceded in death by her brother, Steve Allen, her son, Jeff Smith and her granddaughter, Danielle Johnson-Burrow.

Private services to be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the donor's choice c/o McCoy-Blossom Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1304 Boone Street, Troy, MO, 63379, 636-528-8244. Family and friends are invited to sign the online guest book at mccoyblossomfh.com
