Barbara Sue Marcum Strunk, age 80 years, of Whitley City, Kentucky, wife of the Gene Strunk, died Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at UK Hospital in Lexington, KY.
She was born in Vincent, Kentucky on November 9, 1941, the daughter of the late Sanford and Reba McIntire Marcum. She was a telephone operator for Cincinnati Bell and a homemaker. She loved attending and was a member of Marshes Siding Church of God. She enjoyed gardening, home canning, shopping and beach vacations with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Gene Strunk; daughters, Kimberly Strunk of Richmond KY., and Angela and husband Eric Wireman of Lynchburg, Ohio; also her grand-children, Keegan and Aurelia Wireman.
In addition to her parents, Sanford and Reba Marcum; she is preceded in death by her brothers, Hughes, Paul and Ralph Wayne Marcum; and sister, Carolyn Brandenburg.
Funeral service for Barbara are Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 1:00 PM in the chapel of McCreary County Funeral Home, with brother Harry Waters officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time for funeral service. Burial will follow in Higginbotham Cemetery.
