Barbara Lucille Sushka of Zionsville, IN, peacefully passed away into the presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday night, June 23, 2025, at the age of 84 with her loving husband of 55 years, Ted, by her side and holding her hand.
Barbara was born to Clayton and Audrey Farnsworth on February 8, 1941, in Wheeling, WV, and attended Wellsburg High School, where she was the valedictorian of the class of 1959. She later graduated from Washington Technical College in Marietta, OH, and was employed as an Educational Aide for Marietta City Schools. She was a woman of deep faith devoted to studying the Bible, prayer, and the spiritual well-being of her family, a passionate ice skating fan, an avid traveler across the U.S. and abroad, and a wonderful baker of delicious family recipes for many to enjoy.
Barbara was wed to Theodore Wilson Sushka on July 5, 1970, in Wellsburg, WV. She is survived by her husband, daughter Lori (Patrick) O’Maille, son Steven (Anne) Sushka, and step-children Louis (Paula) Sushka and Bobbi Tighe. She has ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Clayton and Audrey; her brother Clayton Farnsworth; and her sisters Janice Simmons, Helen Tubbs, and Nancy Ohler.
A service will be held at the Hoosier Village Chapel in Zionsville, IN, on Thursday, June 26, with visitation starting at 1:30 PM and a service at 2:30 PM. A second service will be held at Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home in Marietta, OH, on Saturday, June 28, with visitation starting at 1:30 PM and a service at 2:30 PM, followed by burial in Putnam Cemetery in Devola, OH, where she lived and raised her family.
Memorial contributions can be directed to the Hoosier Village Chapel, Marietta First Nazarene Church, or The Salvation Army.
