Funeral Services for Ms. Barbara R. Sutton will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at PeoplesFuneral Home Chapel, 886 North Farish Street, Jackson, MS. Her Final Resting Place will be at Autumn Woods Cemetery, 4000 W. Northside Drive, Jackson, Mississippi.

On December 17, 2025, Barbara R. Sutton went to be with our Lord and Savior. Barbara was born on May 15, 1947 to Tom and Minnie B. Sutton.

Barbara accepted Christ into her life and became a member of Free Mission Missionary Baptist Church. Barbara was educated in the Jackson Public School District and found joy in life's simple pleasures, reading, cooking and enjoying her children and grandchildren. Barbara worked throughout her professional life in Food Service.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Walter Sutton, Roy Sutton, and Jimmie Sutton; and one sister, Rubye Bennett.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her two sons: Anthony and Kenneth (Patricia), one daughter, Barbara (Jimmy); five grandchildren: Kenneth, Areda, Jonathan, Sarena and JaMarcus; three brothers: Tom Sutton, Robert Sutton (Debra) and Larry Sutton (Brenda); one sister, Rita Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, great- grandchildren and other relatives.

We all have different journeys different paths along the way. We're all meant to learn some things but never meant to stay. Our destination is a place, far greater than we know, for some the journey's quicker, for some that journey's slow, and when the journey finally ends, we'll claim a great reward and find an everlasting peace, together with the Lord.
