Barbara Marie Tanck

Barbara Marie Tanck, age 67, of Hartford, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 17, 2025.
Barbara was born on March 24, 1958, in Hartford, Wisconsin, to William and Rita (née Stefan) Schraufnagel.
She was united in marriage to Joseph Tanck on August 14, 1982, at St. Kilian Catholic Church.
Barbara spent many years working as a taxi driver in Washington County, where she became well known for her kindness and dedication.
Barbara had a deep love for knitting, sewing, and embroidering clothing. She especially enjoyed teaching an embroidery class at Senior Friends, where she cherished the time spent with others.
For many years, Barbara proudly embroidered the flags for the VFW Avenue of Flags, a contribution she held close to her heart.She especially loved watching her daughter, Kira, ice skate, as well as attending plays and concerts to support her.
Barbara is survived by her loving daughter, Kira Tanck, and her brother, David Schraufnagel.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Tanck; her parents, William and Rita Schraufnagel; her brother-in-law, Gerald Tanck; and her sister-in-law, Katherine Tanck.
Funeral services for Barbara will be held on Friday, December 26, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. at Shimon Funeral Home, with Father Rick Stoffel officiating.
Family and friends may gather from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 1:30 p.m.
Inturnment will be held at a later time.
