Barbara Waldrop Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Strickland & Family Cremations & Funeral Services on Jul. 4, 2025.
Bobbi Waldrop, age 77, passed away peacefully at her Willoughby home on June 30, 2025, surrounded by love, laughter, and the salty breeze she so adored.
A sun worshipper, beach lover, and longtime devotee of Negril, Jamaica-Bobbi was a free spirit with the soul of a gypsy, the heart of a hippie, and the spirit of a mermaid. She was a self-proclaimed Joyologist, a fierce and tender nurse before anything else, a former pharmaceutical rep, a caretaker to many, and a champion, cheerleader, and occasional ass-kicker (especially to her beloved Scheuby).
Bobbi lived loud, laughed freely, and danced often. Her creativity knew no bounds-she was a poet who wrote personalized birthday verses for everyone she loved, a photographer with an eye for beauty in everyday moments, and a joyful presence known to cruise the neighborhood on her beach cruiser, leaving smiles in her wake.
She was predeceased by her parents, Aubrey and Hennie Mason; her loving husband, John Waldrop; and her sister-in-love, Claudoodle.
She is survived by her loving daughter Nan Rafter (and her Son-in-Love, Billy), her pride and joy-grandsons Cutty and Tug Rafter, her beloved Scheuby, and her sweet Hop. Her grandsons lit up her life and were the spark in her eyes.
Bobbi was pure sunshine-stylish, soulful, magnetic, magical, and one of a kind. She gave good vibes, great hugs, and unshakable support to anyone in need. There was never a dull moment with Bobbi; she was the real deal-a true original who loved big, lived fully, and inspired joy wherever she went.
She will be deeply missed by so many and will remain in our lives like the music she loved-vibrant, eternal, and full of soul.
One Love.
A Celebration of Life will be held to honor her memory and the joy she gave to so many at Rebel Marina, 1553 Bayville St, Norfolk, VA on Sunday, July 27th from 2 to 4 PM.
