Born on February 20, 1956, in Niles, MI, Barbara was the cherished daughter of the late Elmer and Keiko (Ishibashi) Adolph. She carried her parents' legacy with grace, warmth, and a deep sense of family that defined her life.
Barbara dedicated her professional career to finance at Edgewater and previously served as secretary for the Buchanan Chamber of Commerce, where her friendly nature and organizational talents left a lasting impression. Her work was always marked by integrity and a genuine desire to help others.
Barbara's greatest joy came from her family. She is survived by her loving children, Joseph (Jenn) Walker and Sarah (Elizabeth Hoffer) Walker; her adored grandchildren, Blake Walker and Finleigh Hoffer; her devoted siblings, Mary (Bill) Davison and Steve (Jen) Adolph; and many nieces and nephews who will remember her as a source of laughter, wisdom, and unconditional support. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George "Bill" William Walker, and her parents.
Barbara's constant companion, her beloved mini schnauzer Sophie, was raised from a puppy and given a life full of love, treats, and cozy naps. Sophie was never far from Barbara's side, a testament to her nurturing spirit.
Known for her vibrant personality, Barbara was a social butterfly who made friends wherever she went. She had a passion for craft shows, a flair for hosting family dinners and holiday gatherings, and a loyal presence at her grandchildren's sporting events. Her hobbies included bowling, golfing, and-most enthusiastically-shopping for purses, a pastime she pursued with unmatched delight.
Barbara's legacy is one of kindness, connection, and celebration. Her home was a haven of warmth, her laughter a balm to those around her, and her memory a treasure to all who knew her.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Palmer Funeral Home – Hoven Chapel. A memorial service will follow starting at 6pm with Pastor Nathan Babcock officiating.
Donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or Humane Society of Southwestern Michigan.
