Kerry Neal Montgomery

Kerry Neal Montgomery, age 60, of Elkhart, Indiana, passed away on September 27, 2025. Born on February 28, 1965, in Gary, Indiana, Kerry was the beloved son of the late Arnell and Vivian Montgomery.

Kerry was a man of vibrant spirit and deep affection, known for his love of music-especially the timeless sounds of Prince-and his joyful dancing that could light up any room. A devoted fan of Star Wars, he found wonder in its lore and imagination. He also cherished watching basketball, faithfully cheering for the Chicago Bulls and Kansas City Chiefs.

Above all, Kerry loved his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Deborah (Lightner) Montgomery, and his children: Whitney Montgomery, Laurichel Montgomery, Mariah Montgomery, Gabrielle Montgomery, Vivian Montgomery, and Andre Getter. His legacy continues through his twelve grandchildren: Alayah, Makiyah, JaeDon, Ambrea, Deriana, King, Adrien, Sephora, Sarai, Raiden, Ravyn, and Kinsley.

Kerry is also survived by his sister, Diana Whitt, and brothers Donnie Johnson and Arnell Montgomery. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Brenda Smith and Anita Montgomery; brothers Ronnie Johnson, Matthew Johnson, and Terrance Montgomery; and his brother-in-law, Aubrey Whitt.

Kerry will be remembered for his warmth, his laughter, and the countless friendships he nurtured throughout his life. In keeping with the family's wishes, cremation will take place, and no services will be held. Palmer Funeral Home – Hoven Chapel is assisting the family during this time.
