Barbara Jean Bush Waller of Blakely, Ga., passed away peacefully at her home Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the age of 89.
She was born in Miller County, Ga., October 11, 1936, to the late Eager A. Bush and Louella Williams Bush.
Mrs. Waller was a retired seamstress. She was the oldest member of New Hope Baptist Church and was active in her Sunday school class and the women’s Circle of Life mission group.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Glenn Waller; a daughter, Dyan Taylor; a son-in-law, Dan “Buster” Smith; five brothers, Harry Bush, Leon Bush, Abner Bush, Olin Bush and Joe Bush; three sisters, Lucille Creel, Charlene Johnson and Alice Jones; and one half-brother, Wayne Bush.
She is survived by a daughter, Debra Smith of Cuthbert, Ga.; three half-sisters, Vivian Sammons of Blakely, Barbara Ann LaFoon of Fairfield Bay, Ark., and Lynn Grace of Venice, Fla.; one half-brother, John Bush of Winterhaven, Fla.; one sister-in-law, Barbara Jean Bush of Leesburg, Ga.; a son-in-law, Ronnie Taylor of Blakely; five grandchildren, Chad Taylor and Trey Taylor and wife Katie, all of Blakely, Neal Smith and wife Krissey of Cuthbert, Kylie Patterson and husband Will of Albany Ga., and Brooke Berry and husband Justin of Cuthbert; five great-grandchildren, Emma Taylor of Columbus, Ga., Daniel Smith of Cuthbert, Gracie Bruner of Albany, and Nash Berry and Timmy Berry of Cuthbert; and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at the church at 2:00 p.m. Family will have private graveside services at George Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Teddy Waller, Brad Waller, David Bush, Jason Bush, Jesse Williams, and Keith Poole.
