Barbara A. "Bobbie" Watson

Barbara Ann Watson, lovingly known as Bobbie to her many friends and family, passed away on July 29, 2025 at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio at the age of 79, following a prolonged decline in health. Born July 9, 1946 in Dennison, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Charles Robert "Bob" and Annabelle Jean "Annie" (Wade) Nelson. She had lived in Bowerston, Ohio for many years and had most recently been a longtime resident of Uhrichsville, Ohio.

Bobbie started her career in healthcare in the early 1980s working in the office of Dr. Terry Stocker in Bowerston. She continued on as a volunteer EMT with the Bowerston Fire Department's Emergency Squad, and later was an ambulance driver and EMT for United Ambulance and Smith Ambulance for many years. She had also been employed by the Uhrichsville Goshen Dairy store. Bobbie was a devoted mother and grandmother who delighted in the time that she spent with her family. She also loved showing off her green thumb (that she inherited from her mother), reflected in her beautiful and well cared for flower beds. Bobbie spent many happy days with her sister going out to eat and on shopping outings.

Bobbie leaves behind her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Kathy Watson; grandchildren, Heath (Betsy) Watson and Desiree (Chad) Benner; 11 great-grandchildren; an expected great-great-grandson; her sister, Shirley (Larry) Hagan; and several nieces and nephews.

In keeping with her wishes, a private, family service is planned prior to her interment in Bowerston's Longview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions honoring her memory may be made to Ohio's Hospice Foundation, 716 Commercial Ave. S.W., New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
