Barbara Joan Weston

Barbara Joan Weston (née Patton), age 79, passed away on December 16, 2025, in Joplin, Missouri.
Born on June 7, 1946, in Pyatt, Arkansas, Barbara was the daughter of Samuel Bea Patton and Iva (Wickersham) Patton. She grew up in Pyatt and attended Pyatt High School, laying the foundation for a life marked by resilience and dedication.
Barbara built her career with the Social Security Administration, where she contributed her time and efforts to serving others through public service. Her work reflected a commitment to helping people navigate important aspects of their lives with dignity and support.
She found great joy in traveling and exploring new places. A spirited gambler, Barbara enjoyed the thrill of games of chance and the camaraderie that often came with them. Above all else, she cherished spending time with her granddaughters-Delaney, Shelby, and Kelsey-who brought light and laughter into her life.
Barbara is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Heather Russell; her granddaughters; her brother and sister-in-law, Nick and Julie Patton; and her sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Bill Morgan.
She was preceded in passing by her parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
In accordance with Barbara's wishes, she donated her eyes and body to science-a final act of generosity that reflects the thoughtful spirit with which she lived. No services are planned.
