Barbara was a resident of Fort Cobb for most of her life. She was a graduate of the 1965 Fort Cobb High School Class. During her school years she was involved in various activities and basketball. She had various jobs outside of the home including working at Hollytex Carpet Mills and the Caddo County Court Clerk's office. Barbara was an enthusiastic supporter of her kids' activities.
Barbara married George Larry Wheat and together they had three daughters, Laura, Kellie, and Traci. Later in life she met her soulmate, Marcus Art Carpenter and they spent twenty years together until his passing on January 11, 2017.

She loved to play bingo with her grandkids and great-grandkids. Barbara had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. She had a kind and warm heart which made her a friend to all. Barbara loved the Lord and was faithful to pray for her family and friends. She was empathetic, encouraging, and genuinely cared about others. Her memory will live on in the lives of everyone that knew her and she will be greatly missed.
