Barbara White, 68, of Cary, North Carolina passed away on Friday, September 19, 2025. She was born in Norfolk, VA on July 17, 1957 to the late Joseph John White, Sr. and Thelma Mae Davis White.
She is also preceded in death by her brothers, John Robert White and Richard Dale White and her sister, Hilda Louise Buck.
Barbara graduated in 1976 from North Edgecombe High School in Leggett, NC where she was a member of the softball team. Ms. White joined the United States Army on January 1, 1980 and proudly served her country until she was honorably discharged as Sergeant on August 23, 1988.
Ms. White was a faithful member of St. James Episcopal Church in Hackettstown, NJ where she found her unshakeable faith in God. She was an active member of the Fundraising Committee there as well.
Barbara was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and attended many games at Wrigley Field. She loved golfing, baseball, football and softball. Most of all she loved her family, she will be remembered as a loving sister, aunt and friend.
Barbara is survived by her sister, Elsie White and her husband Ray; brother, Joseph Pullen; nephew, Christopher White and his wife Taylor and their son, Brighton; niece, Kelly White and her son Cayden; niece, Amecia Daniels and her daughter, Milani; nephew, Joseph Charles White; and other loving family members.
In addition to her beloved family, Barbara was blessed with a long standing friendship that brought her immeasurable joy and support. Her best friend, Barbara and her husband, Davie, were more than companions—they were family. Their bond was a testament to loyalty, laughter, and unwavering presence through life’s highs and lows.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 5, 2025 at Hudson Funeral Home, 211 S. Miami Blvd., Durham, NC 27703.
Military Honors will be rendered at 3:00 P.M.
