Barbara Whitson Obituary
Barbara Jean Whitson earned her wings on October 15, 2025, at home with her family. Born on November 10, 1933, Jean loved her family, gospel music, and Braves baseball. She spent most of her life in Harriman working in the hosiery mill and later as a waitress at the Cracker Barrel. Jean was always ready to go to a gospel singing or concert with her daughter Tina and family.
Jean is preceded in death by her son: Terry Crowe.
Parents: Jack & Grace Plemons
Sisters: Carolyn "Sissy" Plemons, Shirley Plemons and Nancy Smith.
Brother: Jackie Plemons.
She is survived by her daughter: Tina Whitson.
Grandson: Frankie Burgess.
Nieces: Debbie & husband Steve Ellison, Shannon & husband Steve Conley.
Along with many great nieces and nephews that she loved very much.
The family will receive friends Saturday October 18, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home in Harriman. Funeral services will follow in the chapel of Davis Funeral Home at 1:00 PM with Bro. Kyle Beverly officiating. Graveside services will follow in Dyllis Church Cemetery.
