Barbara Jean Young, 90, of Shirley, IN passed way Sunday March 30, 2025 at Morristown Manor in Morristown, Indiana.
She was born February 28, 1935 in Ashland, Ky. the daughter of the late Ace and Hattie (Bellamy) Runyon.
Barbara worked at Eastern Hancock High School as a janitor for many years. She loved gardening ,canning and cooking for her family. She was a member of the Shirley Church of the Nazarene in Shirley and spent many hours working with the children there.
She is survived by two sons; Mark (Naomi) Young of Shirley, Barry Young and daughter Rhonda Young of Greenfield; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale Young; eleven brothers and sisters.
Funeral service will be Friday, April 4, 2025 at 11:30 A.M. at the Shirley Church of the Nazarene Church with Pastor Bard Hacker officiating. Friends may call from 9:30 to 11:30 prior to the service. Burial will follow at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson.
