Coats, NC: Mr. Barney Mack Williams, age 77, of N. Orange Street passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at his home. Funeral services will be held 2:00PM-Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Coats. Officiating will be Rev. Paul Cecil. Burial will follow in the Williams Family Cemetery in Coats.
Mr. Williams was born on May 3, 1947 in Harnett County to the late Ira and Gertie Avery Williams. He was preceded in death by his sisters and brother, Hugh Williams, Imogene Haponski, Madrid Casey, and Judy Campbell. Mr. Williams was a retired heavy equipment operator and worked for various companies. A proud veteran of the U.S. Army and the National Guard, Mr. Williams dedicated his life to serving his country and his community, embodying the values of courage, commitment, and compassion. He was also a member of the American Legion Banner Post 109 in Benson. Mr. Williams was a former member of the Coats Rescue Squad.
Known affectionately as a "Jack of All Trades," Mr. Williams had a remarkable ability to tackle any challenge that came his way. Whether it was fixing a leaky faucet, crafting beautiful wooden pieces, or lending a helping hand to a neighbor in need, he approached every task with a sense of pride and joy. His passion for woodworking was evident in the many cherished creations he gifted to family and friends, each piece a testament to his skill and creativity.
Mr. Williams found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved spending quiet mornings watching his beloved Martin birds, finding peace and contentment in their graceful presence. His appreciation for the little things extended to his fondness for yard sales and flea markets, where he delighted in discovering hidden treasures and sharing stories with fellow enthusiasts.
A simple man at heart, Mr. Williams taught us all the importance of cherishing the moments that matter most. He had a unique ability to find beauty in everyday life, reminding us to slow down and appreciate the world around us. His laughter, kindness, and unwavering spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Surviving is his wife, Mary Frances Weaver Williams; daughter, Wendy Williams and husband, Andy; son, Jamie Williams; grandchildren, Taylor Williams and Hunter Williams and wife, Sydney; great-grandchildren, Maelyn Nobles and Briar Williams; sister, Josie W. Nash and husband, Elcie; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12:45PM to 1:45PM on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Coats, and other times at the home of Wendy and Andy Williams.
