Barry Benge Obituary
Barry was born September 8, 1951 in North Carolina to the late Walter Clay Benge, Jr. and the late Sarah Anne Hartsell Benge.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Richard Benge and son-in-law, Michael Marthers.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Sunday, December 26, 2021, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will be on Monday, December 27, 2021, at 1:00 pm at Philadelphia Baptist Church in Stanfield officiated by Dr. Carey Snellings. Burial will follow at the Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery at 12568 Philadelphia Church Road, Stanfield.
Survivors include wife, Ruby Barnhardt Benge of Locust, NC; children, Karen Marthers of Locust, NC, and Jason Benge of the home; brothers, Michael Benge and Alex Benge (Dawn); and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Barry enjoyed NASCAR, football - especially NC State, and trucks - especially Ford. He also liked going to the beach and riding go-carts. Barry will be remembered as an avid flounder fisherman who loved to go fishing with his brothers. Most important to him was spending time with his family, including his grand-cat, Yoda.
