Barry Darnall, 70 of Benton, Kentucky passed away on Monday, April 14, 2025 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
Barry was born in Murray, Kentucky on February 2, 1955. He worked as a paramedic for Marshall County Hospital and was deeply committed to helping others throughout his life. Barry was an active member of both Palma-Briensburg and West Marshall Fire Departments and formerly served with the East Marshall Fire Department. He also contributed his time on the Marshall Co. Rescue Squad and Red Cross. Barry was a former Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 69. He will be remembered for his unwavering dedication, compassion and positive impact he made on countless lives through his service to our community.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Shaun Story Darnall of Benton; two sons, Jason S. Darnall (Jessica) of Grand Rivers and Adam J. Darnall (Ariel) of Benton; sister, Claudia Fulks of Marshall County; and three grandchildren, Addilyn, Aleeah and Avery Darnall.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Dean Thorn Darnall; father, Ted H. Darnall; and step-mother, Mae Darnall.
A funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at Collier Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Briensburg Cemetery, Benton, KY.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, April 18, 2025 at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, Kentucky.
Memorial contributions may be made to: Shriners Children's Hospital, 2900 Rocky Point Dr. Tampa, Florida 33607 or make check to Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt and mail to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Office of Development, PO Box 290369, 525 Royal Parkway, Nashville, TN 37229-0369.
