Philip Canestrino, Jr., 89 of Benton, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at his home.

Philip was born at home in Hackensack, New Jersey on July 22, 1936 to the late Philip Canestrino, Sr. and Mary Distasi Canestrino. He proudly served our country in the United States Army. Philip worked as a compounder for Krompton & Knolls. He enjoyed watching westerns, collecting John Wayne memorabilia and was a Dallas Cowboys fan.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Margaret Mangino Canestrino; daughter, Brenda Mitchell and husband, Michael of Benton, KY; two grandchildren, Stphanie Lopez (Michael) of Benton, KY and Teddy Bulson, IV of Paducah, KY; one great-granddaughter, Lydia Violet Lopez.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Betty Mazzola.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Collier Funeral Home.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, Kentucky.
