Obituary of Barry Stephen Farrow
Romans 8:16-17 "The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together."
Barry Stephen Farrow, age 71 of Kingsport, went home to be with Jesus and to receive his Heavenly rewards on March 12, 2024. Barry was born on July 21, 1952, in Porterdale, GA to L.C. and Betty Jo Farrow. On June 18, 2010, Barry married his high school sweetheart, Marlene Koontz, and after 13 years of a beautiful marriage and serving the Lord together, she survives.
Barry lived his life to be a servant of Jesus and he was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. He served as an Associate Pastor in Guthrie, OK for many years and he enjoyed teaching Sunday school. Barry loved singing and you could always hear him singing his favorite Southern Gospel songs by his favorite group "The Kingdom Heirs". Barry also enjoyed sports and he was a huge University of Oklahoma fan.
Barry was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Tommy Farrow. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Marlene Farrow; three sons, Daniel Farrow and wife Gina, Jon Farrow and wife Beth, and Scott Schwalich and wife Emily; three daughters, Keri Smith,Tracy Farrow, and Michelle Rose and husband John; 13 grandchildren, Chase, Emily, Jennings, Miles, Maddie, Jay, McKenize, Bailey, Joee, Abram, Evie, Owen, and Olivia; and many loving nieces, nephews, and other family members.
