Mr. Barry Lee Hart, of Dyersburg, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at his home. He was born September 13, 1947 to the late James & Christine Hart. Barry was the long-time owner of Hart's No. 1 Used Cars in Dyersburg and proudly served in the United States Army during the Viet Nam War. He was well known for his outgoing personality, his love of fishing and was a trader at heart. He was a dedicated member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Unionville where he served as a Deacon and head of the Evangelism Committee. He also worked with the Tennessee Baptist Association Disaster Relief efforts.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Hart, his son Mike Nicks & wife, Emily, his daughters, Wendy Gillon & husband, Bart and Kaylee Nichols & husband, Will and his sisters, Phyllis Darby & Candace Cooke. He loved his time with and role as "Papaw" to his grandchildren; Dyver & Jaye Bless Nicks, Cole Gillon and Nora Nichols.
Visitation will be held at Dyersburg Funeral Home on Thursday, November 9, 2023 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. and in the time before funeral services which will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg. The Deacons of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church will be honored to serve as pallbearers.
The family ask that memorials be directed, in Barry Hart's name to Christ Classical Academy in Dyersburg, TN.
