Barry Neal Higgins Sr.

Barry Neal Higgins, Sr., age 65, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2024. He was born on February 25, 1959, to Neal and Charlotte "Becky" (Basinger) Higgins. He lived a life marked by love, faith, and devotion to his family and community.
Barry attended Rogers Vocational School in Gardendale, Alabama where he graduated in 1978.
Barry was the beloved husband of Frankie Terry Higgins, with whom he shared 45 years of marriage built on love and unwavering partnership. Together, they created a home filled with warmth and cherished memories. Barry was a devoted father to his two sons, Barry Neal and Jonathan. He especially treasured the time spent hiking and camping with them during their Boy Scout adventures, creating bonds that will be forever remembered.
As a proud grandfather, Barry found great joy in his grandchildren: Evan, Lauryn, Owen, and Hunter. His love for them was immeasurable, and he delighted in watching them grow and thrive. The time he spent on family vacations in the Smoky Mountains, watching his grandchildren have fun, were some of his fondest memories.
Barry was preceded in death by his father, Harvis Neal Higgins. He is survived by his mother, Becky Higgins; sisters Karen Higgins and Gina (Paul) Shoemaker; sons Barry Neal (Jen) and Jonathan (Bree), as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Barry dedicated many years of his professional life to Metal Products of Alabama. Known for his hard work and integrity, he left a lasting impression on his colleagues through his dedication and commitment.
A man of deep faith, Barry's life reflected his devotion to God, his family, and Bayview Baptist Church, where he was a longtime member. His legacy is one of love, service, and the joy he brought to those around him. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday, December 23, 2024. Visitation will take place from 10:00 am with service to follow at 11:00 am. Crestview Memorial Funeral Home directing with Pastor, Jeff Isbell officiating. His final resting place will be at Village Falls Cemetery. May he rest in eternal peace.
