COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Barry Lynn Jackson, age 59 of Cookeville, passed away on Saturday October 18, 2025, at his residence. Born on April 30, 1966, in Cookeville, he spent his life enriching the lives of those around him with kindness and dedication.
Barry worked diligently for 41 years at Dacco in Cookeville, where he garnered respect and admiration from colleagues as a committed worker. A proud member of UAW Union Local 2049, he exemplified the values of hard work and perseverance throughout his career.
Deeply rooted in his faith, Barry was a devoted member of Brotherton Missionary Baptist Church, where he cherished every opportunity to serve and work in his church community. He was known as a good Christian man who loved his family unconditionally, and his personal warmth left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Betty Jackson; his mother, Pauline Jackson; and his daughters, Jennifer and Tiffany Jackson. He is also survived by his brother, Larry Jackson and his wife, Laura; his sister, Vickie Parks and her husband, Joel; as well as his notable nieces and nephews, Kacie Pierce and husband Logan , William Jackson and Wife Carla, April Laferriere and her husband, Leon, and Andrea Roberts Shaw and her husband, Panda; and several great nieces and nephews. Additionally, he leaves behind his brothers and sisters-in-law, Johnny "Buck" Edmonds and his wife, Patsy; Beulah Randolph and her husband, Roy; Sarah Hunter and her husband, Donnie; Anna Wilson and Peggy Edmonds.
Barry was predeceased by his father, Willis Burl Jackson, his grandparents, Diberal and Mattie Jackson, as well as Earlie and Rissie Ann Webb; and brother-in-laws , Ray Wilson and Johnny Edmonds.
In honor of Barry’s life, a funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday October 22 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Wade Givens and Bro. Danny Lane will officiate. Interment will follow at Brotherton Cemetery. Visitation for friends and family will be Tuesday from 5 - 8 p.m. and again Wednesday from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Barry Lynn Jackson will be remembered as a devoted husband and father , also for his unwavering faith, his dedication to his family, and his contributions to both his workplace and local church. His legacy of kindness and hard work will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
