OBITUARY
Barry was born in Queens, New York to Sol and Florence Kreisler. He grew up in New Jersey alongside his brother Michael and sister Susan. As a teenager, his family moved to Arizona, and he attended college at the University of Arizona. In 1974, after moving to Georgia, he met his future-wife and mother of his children, Laura Black. They were married in 1980, and despite divorcing many years later, remained close as loving parents to their daughters and son.
Barry's lifelong dream was to be a father. He lived, worked and sacrificed for his children, loved them deeply, and was loved deeply in return. He loved to make people laugh at any opportunity, and his huge personality could fill any room. He loved to read and instilled that love in his children from an early age.
Barry was predeceased by his parents Sol Kreisler and Florence Kreisler, and his nephew Steven Lewin.
He is survived by his three children, Rebecca Kreisler, Stefanie Kreisler Thellman, and Daniel Kreisler; son-in-law Steve Thellman; His brother Michael Kreisler, sister-in-law Barbara Kreisler, and their children David Kreisler, Michele Kreisler Rubenstein and Jeffrey Kreisler; and his sister Susan Kreisler Lewin, her partner Elle Douglass, and her son Joe Lewin.
Interment for family and close friends is at 10am on Tuesday 6/18/24 at North Atlanta Memorial Park in Dunwoody. All are welcome to gather to celebrate Barry and share memories immediately following the service at the home of Rebecca Kreisler 1999 Benthill Drive in Marietta.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Congregation Beth Shalom, or the synagogue or charity of your choice.
