SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - Barry Craig Linnell, 79, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 1, 2024, at home with family.
Barry was born on July 12, 1945, in San Mateo, California, the son of Robert Linnell and Roberta (Zoller) Linnell.
He married his beautiful wife Gayle, on June 7, 1969.
In addition to being a faithful family man, Barry was proud to serve in the United States Navy.
After serving, he then began his career as an electrical engineer which he eventually retired from, serving as a physics lab teaching assistant at Trine University.
Barry was a "tinkerer" when it came to fixing things. No matter what was placed in front of him, he would figure out how to fix it.
Barry is survived by his children, Peter M. Linnell and Betsy E. Linnell; granddaughter, Alice Jean-Louise "AJ" Linnell; siblings, Robert Linnell and Bonny Linnell; numerous extended family; and best friend, Pete Rowe.
Barry is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Gayle Louise (Greenamyer) Linnell, who passed away in 2022.
At this time, no formal services will be held.
The family is planning a private memorial for a future date.
