Barry Wayne Meyer, 66, passed in his family home on June 23rd, 2024 after an unwavering battle with a chronic illness. Barry was born on October 16th, 1957, to the late Edna (Koehl) Meyer and late Louis Meyer in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he built a life with his high school sweetheart and wife of nearly 48 years, Cynthia (Knoepfler) Meyer. He is survived by his wife and his four children, Christopher Adam Meyer, Kyle Andrew Meyer, Corey Lee (Stefanie) Meyer, and Kara Ann (John) Duncan.
Barry was an avid lover of all things science and space, and he was eager to share this passion with his friends and family. He will be fondly remembered as the dad who always enjoyed spending time with his kids and as the husband who never missed a chance to celebrate with Esther Price chocolates. The memories of childhood camping trips, playing cards every holiday, and watching UFC fights with him will be cherished. His curious mind, constant tinkering with gadgets, love of the family dogs, and large personality will be missed by all who knew him.
Husband, father, and friend,
We love you to the moon and back
The family will be holding a private celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to His Hands Extended Sanctuary, a humane society in Champaign County providing low cost spay/neuter and animal rescue services.
