Barry Palms, age 75, of Plover, Wisconsin passed away on June 29, 2022 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital following a second stroke.
Barry was born on November 3, 1946 to Roy and Phyllis Palms. After Barry attended Cudahy High School, he went on to serve in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
He was a welder in the metal fabrication industry during his working career. He retired in early 2014 and had many plans to enjoy the outdoors doing the things he loved such as fishing, hunting, horseshoes, and working on cars.
Barry suffered a stroke several months after he retired which hindered his ability to enjoy outdoor life the way he planned to. Never the less, he enjoyed his home life and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his daughters: DeAnna (David) Muhonen, and Kimberly (Matt) Hefter; grandchildren: Nathan (Marlene) Muhonen, and Samantha Palms; and brother: Jeff (Laura) Palms.
Barry is preceded in death by his parents: Roy and Phyllis Palms; and brothers: Keith Palms, Dennis Palms, Skip Palms, and Craig Palms.
The family would like to thank the Tangelwood Assisted Living staff for taking such good care of him. A special thank-you to Jamie Palms for your caring and tenderness.
Per his wishes, there will not be a service. However, there will be a celebration-of-life for the family at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks your consideration of a donation to the Fisher House Foundation.
Herman-Taylor Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family.
