"End? No, the journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path. One we all must take." ~ J. R. R. Tolkien
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bart Miller, who took his last breath on June 8, 2025, holding his wife's hand, surrounded by family in his home. Born on July 20, 1958 in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Bart was an old soul with a kind heart and an unforgettable smile that always crinkled his beautiful blue eyes.
Bart was the type of person everyone loved to be around. The type of person who made you laugh when you were upset and would drop anything to be there if he was needed. He loved adventure and had a solution to every problem. He could name a song by just hearing a few notes and had a song for every person, profession and occasion, with an original pun to match. He was someone you would pick first to be on your trivia team as he had a wealth of knowledge to pull from. He was one of the most creative people you will ever meet and even more resourceful.
An electrician by trade and owner of Mountain Electric, Inc., Bart's toolbox was fully stocked - from navigating the trials of adolescence to a broken down car to a shattered Christmas canister - he could fix it all. Family was everything to Bart and to say he was a "beloved husband and father" wouldn't come close to describing the level of dedication he had for his wife, daughters and nieces. He met the love of his life at 16 years old and together they were able to overcome whatever challenges life threw at them.
Bart was always out-numbered by the women in his life - his wife, mother in-law, sister in-law, two daughters, two nieces, dogs, cats, guinea pigs - he had his work cut out for him - especially on family vacations traveling the country in an RV. When his grandchildren were born, he finally had a boy in the family to pass down his skills to and another little girl to keep him on his toes.
Not only was Bart at every dance recital and school play, he chaperoned field trips, coached softball and continued to be involved in his children's lives as young adults volunteering at work events and the most challenging life events when both his children moved across the country. He was always there, even when times were hard. Bart was so devoted, he even waited to watch his granddaughter's first dance recital before embarking on his next journey.
Bart was always a light that would never go out - even in death. He touched the lives of many and will forever be remembered for his strength, devotion, wit, humor, kindness, talent, knowledge and the way he loved his family with all his heart.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 47 years, Lisa (Richardella), his daughters Jaime and her husband Michael Drinka, Roxanne Miller, his grandchildren Angelina & Vincenzo Drinka, mother-in-law Judy and nieces Savanna & Danya Arabi-Katbi.
Family and friends may visit Friday, June 13, at Flynn and Son/Mitruska Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ, from 2-4 pm & 6-8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 14 at 8:45 am followed by a 9:30 am Mass at Our Lady of Peace Church, Fords. Cremation will be private.
