Basil C MacLean

Basil C. MacLean,a lifelong resident of Middletown, NY, passed away peacefully at home, February 13, 2023 at the age of 89.
The son of the late Basil C. MacLean Sr. and Besse Cale MacLean, he was born in Middletown, NY on November 15, 1933.
He graduated from Middletown High School class of 1953. He served his country with the United States Air Force from 1953 through 1957 and was stationed in Greenland during the Korean War. Upon his return he worked for the Middletown Postal Service and the Middletown Psychiatric Center. In his later years he worked at Orange County Community College as the game room supervisor.
Basil's a lifetime member of the Eagle Engine Co. #2 in Middletown, N.Y. and was a member of the American Legion Post #151.
He was overjoyed to be celebrated with other veterans on the Hudson Valley Honor Flight #25 in 2022.
Basil is survived by his wife, Anne Santos MacLean at home, his children; Diane Walker, Joseph Johnson and his wife Donna; Jeffrey Johnson and his wife Joann, Randy MacLean and his wife Kathie, Daniel MacLean and his wife Cheryl and Christopher MacLean. He is further survived by his grandchildren; Corey, Danielle, Kaylin, Matthew, Michael, Miguel, Jennifer, Nicole, Heather, Crystal, Amber, Brittany, Ashlie, Aarron and Justin, as well as 25 great-grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister, Margaret (Peggy) Nickerson, brother, William (Bill) MacLean and granddaughter Tanya Walker.

Visitation will take place on Monday, February 20, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A Celebration of Life will be at 7:30 pm.
Burial will take place at Orange County Veteran's Cemetery on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at 11:00am.
